Marianne Abib-Pech

Pure product of Corporate America, Marianne started her career in Arthur Andersen, before joining General Electric Europe and finally becoming global CFO of one of the business units of a big oil company at the age of 35. After close to five years in the role, Marianne decided to start a new chapter, a more entrepreneurial and more impactful chapter. She moved to Hong-Kong, wrote a book for the Financial Times about leadership and created two consulting platforms – SYLAR focused on financial advising for mainly oil and gas and LEADERS focused on developing the leaders of tomorrow. She sits on the board of several start-ups and investment funds. Her objective is to act as a catalyst of ideas (via the writing), businesses (via the advising) and of people (via the leadership consulting) to contribute to the emerging of a new and better world. She is a regular contributor to Global Corporate Venturing, the Independent and the Huffington Post. Visit Marianne’s website here. Twitter: @FTLeadership

What Marianne says about working with SRA Books

‘Sue was my writing coach for over a year and she introduced me to the wonderful albeit tricky world of writing and publishing. She helped with the birth of not one but two books, one on women and leadership and the FT Guide: Leadership How to lead effectively and get results. Sue was involved and highly instrumental at the conceptual level of both books – challenging me on defining markets, unique selling points and target audiences. She also took a large part in the editing of the books turning them into “plain English” or pushing for precise and accurate language. She also gave me emotional support, when as a first-time writer I went through the creative ups and downs … and some writers block. I could not have done this without her. And I would wholeheartedly recommend her and her team to anyone embarking on this journey.’
